Tyrant is a drama about a fictional tyrant in the Middle East, yet one that resembles many existing ones. Dr Oweidat, was a content consultant for three seasons offering insights to render the show an accurate reflection of the lives of citizens living under authoritarian regimes, including young reformers and Islamists. In a rare occurrence, the show received praise in the Arabic press and was described in the Arabic media as an accurate reflection of what is happening in the region.
